Jefferson Partnering with IBM Watson on 'Smart' Hospital Rooms

A hospital stay can be an unsettling experience. The stress of diagnosis and the sometimes hectic atmosphere can cause a lot of anxiety for patients and their families.

Jefferson recently partnered with IBM to launch cognitive hospital rooms, powered by IBM Watson Internet of Things, in order to help ease the stress on patients and clinicians. The technology will be designed so patients can interact with it, make requests and trigger actions that improve the overall patient experience.

Thomas Jefferson University & Philadelphia University Sign Combination Agreement

The Boards of Trustees of Thomas Jefferson University and Philadelphia University have announced a Combination Agreement to enable the two universities to become one comprehensive university, centered on professional education. The Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center is Part of the White House Cancer Moonshot Task Force

The SKCC at Jefferson is part of the White House Cancer Moonshot Task Force. The Blue Ribbon Panel is composed of leading experts from a broad range of scientific areas, including biology, immunology, genomics, diagnostics, bioinformatics, and cancer prevention and treatment. Their charge was to provide expert advice on the vision, proposed scientific goals, and implementation of the Cancer Moonshot.
